Join us for a social for dinner or a drink at Drifters Kitchen and Bar at 6:00pm, March 2nd !  We will then walk over to Quincy City Hall (1305 Hancock Street) for the Quincy City Council meeting at 7:30pm. We will observe the proceedings, consider how we can make use of the time for public comments, and report back to the neighborhood group.

Anyone is welcome to come just to the social, or the meeting, of course!

Come to the Internationalism & Immigration Working Group’s GENERAL MEETING this Monday to hear about updates to SAFE COMMUNITIES Campaign! Learn about how BDSA is fighting ICE in your neighborhood and in the state house.

The meeting is March 2nd, from 7 to 9 PM, at the Community Church of Boston in Copley Square. Chipotle will be provided at the meeting and there will also be a zoom option

At our general meeting, we will hear updates from BDSA neighborhood leaders who are running their own exciting local campaigns to protect their communities against ICE, as well as updates from the statewide MIRA Coalition about the newly introduced SECURE Act and the upcoming Immigrant’s Day at the state house on March 18th.

Mass scale demonstrations have become common in the last few years. A lot of fear and anxiety is spread about the potential dangers of these protests across social media: surveillance technology, less lethal weapons, counter-protesters, and many other dangers. Many of these fears are well founded, and some of them are less supported. Join experienced organizers and street medics to discuss these topics.

The training will cover basic safety practices for going to a public demonstration, what to bring, what not to bring, and preparation to keep yourself and your comrades safe.

ICE watch and verification is an essential part of defending our neighborhoods against the terror of this administration.

This training will include valuable information on how to identify and respond to ICE activity in your neighborhood. Upon completion of this training, you will know your rights when it comes to interacting with federal agents, be able to identify ICE activity, prepare and practice confronting ICE agents, and be confident in using a whistle to alert community members.

This event will also have food, child watch, and community! We cannot survive the next three years on our own. Please join us!

Bring socks or other knits with holes and we’ll provide materials and instructions for darning them!

The Boston chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America typically holds its General Meetings and General Organizing Meetings for all members each month on a weekend afternoon. At these meetings, members learn about what's going on in the chapter and how to plug in, make decisions that help chart our direction, and more.

4. What role do trade unions and national unions play in decolonization?

5. How does the decolonial struggle manifest differently in the towns and in the country? Where does the struggle start, and how does it evolve? What are the “periods” of the struggle?
